April: Sydney and biztrip
Think this profile was taken sometime in March.
So after BKK, off to Sydney we went. Spent the 1st day at Bondi beach because of the 1st symptom of the pregnancy from travelling... water retention and huge huge feet and ankles! Photo below just upon touching down in Sydney.
Figured then that we should spend the next few days in the car and we headed then north towards Manly, Entrance for the adorable pelicans, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stevens for the wonderful sand dunes and beautiful beaches!! *wanna go back* and then to Hunter Valley. Below, at a B&B in Hunter Valley. We didn't buy any wine despite taking the wine tours there but heaps of chocs and cheeses instead :)
We then headed back to Sydney for a night before heading to Blue Mountains, Jenolan caves, saw lots of roadkill along the way... :( Kangroos, rabbits and a dead wombat with 4 legs inthe air.. i was sad and laughing at the same time :/
While in Sydney itself, we stayed along George Street, just really at chinatown, which was great cos it was merely a walking distance to almost everywhere interesting. Besides paying homage to the Opera House and all things Sydney-ish, we went for the 1st Red Bull Flugtag at the Royal Botanical Gardens. It's a competition open to all to come up with a flying contraption big enough to fly for a while after running down a ramp into the waters. So if your contraption doesn't fly, you'll just smash into the water. It was really fun to see all the creations and it was like some big carnival. It was also a nice day and we had a picnic while watching it all on the big screens. Heaps of people around, so we couldn't really get to the actual stage itself.
After that, we went to meet Karen who brought us to this BEST HOTDOG stall in Sydney ;) She also brought us in the next days to other yummy places like that Ribs place at Bondi.. it was really nice catching up with Carol and her.
We really loved our time in Sydney and it was a slight pity that Hans didn't bring his license cos there were sooo many boats around all the nook and crannies of bays, it would have been really beautiful. Next time then :) We left Sydney on the A380.
After a nice break , it was time to WORK! Having found out not too long ago that I had to go to Shanghai for a week. I didn't do much besides work, work in the hotel and going to H&M :P SOME things just cannot miss lah! hahaha...
With such a comfy hotel, I didn't really feel the need to go out much since we were just in Shanghai not too long ago. Furthermore, I could feel that I was growing alot bigger at 7 months and my feet were perpetually swollen ALL the time. So I felt really tired after work each day. I think I watched An Inconvenient Truth like every night the whole week and I don't think I even finished the whole movie yet!
Everyone from hotel staff to business partners to strangers were treating me like royalty because I was constantly lugging my notebook bag, handbag and baby in front :P They bought me milk etc... nice to be spoilt! heh. Meanwhile managed to score a few great buys at H&M at that Thai mega super mall and also went to Carrefour to get some food. At that time, there were some problems between France and China and my business partners were telling me... no.. dun go Carrefour! :P Fake Crocs found in Carrefour anyone?? Hiaks.
